I'm also going to use this as a jumping-off point to go off on This is Why You're Fat. My initial reaction was "I am fat, because other people eat this food. You've found a new Law O'Science TM!" See, when people with insanely high metabolisms eat food like this, they don't gain weight- which defies the Calories-in/Calories-out equation. But, the calories have got to go somewhere, right? And they do, right onto those "good fatties" (really, I hate the whole "good fatty/bad fatty thing. Food is not a moral issue, unless your religion says so- ie kosher), the vegans, the athletes, even those who are not necessarily fat, but are attempting to lose weight. The science of how people get/stay fat is solved! Fat people become fat because this food exists!
Yeah. Science. Or, you know, bullshit.

I've never set foot in a McDonald's or other burger-centered fast food restaurant, and I don't intend to, ever! Obviously I must not be fat -- it's an illuuuuuuuusion! (Or it was those few times in college when I had fast food pizza or burritos! Their influence extended backward and forward through time across many years!)
No science is not stupid. It is junk science being passed off as science, along with ignorant, illiterate people thinking junk science is actual science. That's the problem.
You're not much of a writer.
Hmmm... energy can neither be created nor destroyed... but it CAN be transferred. So when those high metabolism people eat the burger made with donuts instead of bread (which, hey, looked REALLY GOOD), the calories, rather than being stored on their thighs as fat, simply evaporate into the air, but then are drawn to the invisible pheremones of the slow metabolism people and are deposited on THEIR thighs.
Hee hee... "science" theories are much more fun to come up with when you don't have to think about pesky things such as research, proof, and actual scientific value!!!
To be fair, food is a moral issue for some vegetarians and vegans for non-religious reasons.
Apologies for monopolizing your blog Fat Angie but I have to say this: Okay fellow fats, I’m sick to death of all this self-hatred and shame spiral bullshit! When are we going to band together as a group and fight our oppressors? Society will continue to make us the scapegoats for all their ills unless we stand up and say No More!! I’m sick of reading countless stories of obese people harassed by airlines, by their fellow citizens, by the medical community, by everyone. We have got to take a stand, we’ve got to start fighting this. If you don’t know this stuff already, here’s your crash course: Obesity is genetic, dieting can’t alter your genetics but can kill you or permanently damage your body, obesity does not kill and it does not cause any other disease. Period. The treatment we suffer as obese people is no different than that which was suffered by African-Americans for centuries. In fact, every time you see the word fat or obese used in a negative light, I want you to mentally replace that word with the n-word. It’s no different, it’s completely socially acceptable to say fat derogatorily just as it was completely socially acceptable to use the n-word at one time. Usage of these words is never justified, it’s just the way it is or was and will continue to be forever until we say NO. Every time you think of buying into the idea that fat is wrong and you need to change to be a better, more socially acceptable person, think of someone of color buying into the idea that only white is beautiful, think of that person sitting down with a bottle of bleach and a scrub brush. Neither one (fat or of color) can change the way they look but the real point is that NONE of us should be shamed into pointless, destructive self-hatred in the first damn place. We will continue to be harassed and oppressed until we stand up for ourselves. When will we say enough is enough? When will we allow our voices to be heard? When we will stop apologizing for who we are? When?
2nd Anon- thanks for your opinion. It will be noted and filed where it belongs.
Bookwyrm- I apologize if my comment was alienating to vegetarians/vegans, I didn't mean it that way. I didn't want to start a debate about the morality of eating meat, when I think that that's more of an ethical question than a moral one.
ndlesdream- I agree with you, that's why I was ranting. But please don't bring up the Oppression Olympics. Nobody wins the Oppression Olympics.
In all fairness to the second anon, you truly aren't a very good writer. Poor construction weakens the impact of your argument, already commonly held to lack credibility because it's coming from an obese. Don't become offended, just use better grammar. Your points will be better received by your audience.
An obese, 3rd anon? And you have the audacity to attack the blogger's writing style?
How about using a real name - hiding behind the anonymous label isn't very credible, you know.
Lol, I just saw this. I find great irony in the fact that someone calling me "an obese" is giving me a lecture on grammar.
And his analysis leads me to believe that he has confused me for a professional writer, and not someone who blogs for her own amusement.
